Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This page explains how the Kaevo website uses browser storage — including what is stored, why, and what control you have over it. We keep things straightforward: this website does not use advertising or tracking technologies.
1. Do We Use Cookies?
Traditional HTTP cookies — small text files placed on your device by a web server — are not set by this website for tracking, analytics, or advertising purposes. The Kaevo website relies instead on browser localStorage, a built-in browser feature that stores small pieces of data locally on your device, within your browser only.
2. What Is Stored and Why
We use browser localStorage for one purpose only:
| Storage key | What it stores | Why | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| kaevo_cookie_ok | Whether you have acknowledged the cookie notice on our homepage | So the notice is not shown on every visit once you have dismissed it | Persists until cleared manually or by clearing browser data |
No personal information is stored in this entry. It holds only a simple acknowledgement value. It is not transmitted to any server and is not accessible to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Our website embeds a Google Maps iframe on the homepage to display our workshop location. When that iframe loads, Google may set its own cookies or use browser storage according to Google's own policies. We have no control over that behaviour. If you prefer not to interact with the embedded map, you can view the address directly: Lengkok Cyberpoint 6, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor.
We do not embed any advertising networks, social media widgets, or third-party tracking scripts.
4. What Browser localStorage Is — and Is Not
Unlike cookies, localStorage data:
- Is never sent to the server with each request — it stays in your browser.
- Has no built-in expiry date — it persists until you clear it or clear your browser's site data.
- Is scoped to the domain — only pages on our domain can read it.
This makes it appropriate for storing a simple preference like whether you have seen a notice, with no privacy implications beyond that.
5. How to Clear Stored Data
You can remove the Kaevo localStorage entry at any time in two ways:
- From this page — use the button below to clear the stored preference immediately.
- From your browser — go to your browser's privacy or developer settings and clear site data for this domain. This will also clear any cookies set by embedded third-party services (such as Google Maps).
Clearing the stored preference means the cookie notice on the homepage will appear again on your next visit. No other behaviour on the site is affected.
6. Your Choices
Most browsers allow you to control localStorage and cookies through their settings. Disabling localStorage entirely may cause the cookie notice to reappear on every visit, but will not prevent you from using the site. Instructions for managing storage settings can usually be found in your browser's help documentation.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new uses of browser storage or third-party services that affect this policy, we will update this page. The date above indicates when it was last revised.
